  • With budget week and Q3 results looming large, the Lloyds share price continues to find a floor at 100p and the trends are described here

With budget week and Q3 results looming large, the Lloyds share price continues to find a floor at 100p. Lloyds Banking Group is Britain’s real high-street behemoth – nearly every UK household brushes against it at some point, so when its shares wobble, Britain takes note. As the largest mortgage lender in the UK, it also serves as a Realtime measure of consumer confidence in households. The stock shot above £1 in early 2026 but after peaking at 117.90p in August, it now trades at just over the 103p level as gilt yields, whispers about a meaty Budget bank-tax and concerns over motor-finance continue to bite

In September we asked whether 110p support was in danger, and the answer was yes. With the Budget on 28 October and Q3 results at 7am the next day, volatility is coming.

Fifteen Sessions of Lloyds, Candle by Candle

As for this chart, it only covers volume under the range from 1 to 21 October. Price is boxed in tight: a $99.52 floor, a $108.05 ceiling and a magnet in-between. Which is 104p, “the magnet” were Lloyds closed three times identical on 2, 5 and 12 Oct. Notice how 8 October saw a candle print at 99.68p on 234 million shares, and 20 October tagged 99.98p (track) on the heaviest volume on the chart -247+million. Two large tests into the same shaded area, neither of which broke lower, indicates that buyers continue to absorb supply. Put simply, the market continues to think that 100p looks cheap and 108p looks pricey.

Housing matters too, as UK housing data cast a shadow over Lloyds. Volumes come from Shareprices.com.

The Importance of the 15 October Spike

On 15 October, it put in a high of 108.05p intra-day before finishing at 105.85p; the long upper wick suggests buyers were capped by sellers. A gap down as the day opened at 103.00p before buyers clawed their way back to 104.85p, so dip-buyers live on Lloyds 106.90p is now pivotal as it broke its rising trendline and trades below the 50-day exponential average, but could test these key levels with support at 95p on an ultimate failure

Sector pressure is real: Barclays is nearing a death cross, down more than 23% from its year-to-date high. Remember, a support zone is a probability, not a promise, and earnings can flip a chart overnight, so stay nimble.
