The British Pound is trading lower today as the Tory Party’s leader and UK PM Boris Johnson squared off with the Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn in what was widely adjudged to be an evenly contested debate.
A poll of more than 1,640 persons conducted by YouGov and Sky News showed that only 51% thought Johnson won the debate, against 49% that favoured Corbyn.
Coincidentally, a YouGov-Times-Sky News poll found that support for the Tory party had fallen three points from the previous week, while that of the Labour Party added 2 points. This has cut the lead to 42-30, a difference of 12 points.
