US Market Pre-Open Cautious Ahead of ECB, FED and UK Elections

Cautious sentiment in futures markets ahead of the cash markets opening as investors waiting for fresh cues from the trade negotiations between China and U.S. Bullish sentiment returned to Wall Street after strong NFP numbers last Friday. US economy added 266K jobs last month, the unemployment rate dropped to 3.5%, below expectations. The labour-force participation rate was 63.2%, which was little changed and average hourly earnings increased by $0.07.

Later this week, we have the FOMC decision  on Wednesday. We will also get data on consumer prices on Wednesday, producer prices on Thursday, and the retail sales on Friday.

Nasdaq Futures Lower

The Dow Jones futures trading 0.08% lower at 27,991, the Nasdaq futures as of writing are 0.08% lower at 8,391, the S&P 500 futures are 0.08% lower at 3,143.

Earlier today German Exports surprised positive as the figure came in at 1.2%, topping expectations of -0.3% in October. The Imports came in at 0%, also above forecasts of -0.1% for October. The Germany Trade Balance s.a. came in at €20.6B, above analysts expectations of €19B while the current Account n.s.a. came in at €22.7B beating forecasts of €19.5B.

European indices started softly the week, DAX index gives up 0.18% at 13,144 despite stronger export data, the CAC 40 is 0.52% higher at 5,841 while the FTSE 100 in London is 0.10% lower at 7,231 as the GBPUSD trades at 1.3160 close to seven-month highs.

Asian Equities Ended Higher

In Asia stock indices ended mostly higher, the Nikkei 225 finished 0.33% higher at 23,430; the Singapore Straits Times Index ended 0.47% lower at 3,179, the Hang Seng finished 0.01% lower at 26,494.

In commodities markets, gold prices rebound around $1,464 after Friday’s sharp losses amid stronger NFP data. Crude oil prices trade 1.05% lower at $58.58 while OPEC+ agreed on further cuts.

Bitcoin BTCUSD trades 0.09% lower on thin volumes, while the ETHUSD trades 0.29% lower at 150.16 and Litecoin trades 0.44% higher at 45.36.More content
