United States NFIB Business Optimism Index came in 103.3 for June while the previous reading was 105. Analysts’ consensus was for 103.1
The US dollar index didn’t react to the news as traders await the Jerome Powell speech later today. USDJPY is trading 0.15 percent higher at 108.83 while the USDCAD adding 0.17 percent at 1.3118. Gold is giving up 0.48 percent to 1,388.
Later today we await, US Fed officials (Bostic, Bullard, Quarles) are due to speak, with the main event is testimony by the FED Chair Jerome Powell before the Congress. Traders will focus to his comments about the interest rates and the US and global economic outlook. The speeches by the Fed officials will be also closely heard.
