AC Milan Partners with MonkeyLeague to Bring Pro Football to the Platform

Italian soccer powerhouse AC Milan has partnered with MonkeyLeague, a web3 football game powered by the Solana blockchain. Following the agreement, AC Milan will serve as Rossoneri’s NFT Gaming Partner. A number of interesting new initiatives, such as club players playtesting the game, are part of the new comprehensive strategic and design relationship between NFT and AC Milan. Other activities include the creation of exclusive AC Milan-branded NFT game assets, wearables, special game tournaments, and co-marketing events.

What the partnership entails

As part of the agreement, MonkeyLeague will collaborate with AC Milan to release a set of branded Rossoneri NFT game assets, such as new MonkeyPlayers, skins, and Stadiums. In the near future, the first and most exclusive batch of NFTs will be auctioned off on MagicEden.  Also, many fans will likely bid on AC Milan MonkeyPlayers since they come with authentic, signed jerseys from the team.

Additionally, AC Milan and MonkeyLeague will debut the first season of the MonkeyPlayer NFT breeding season, which will allow Rossoneri-branded assets to randomly appear during the breeding process. More non-game-specific items, such as real estate and in-game Stadiums, will be available as well. This cooperation is a huge step forward for the MonkeyLeague community as a whole, and it fits in nicely with MonkeyLeague’s overall goal of connecting the web2 and web3 gaming communities.

Football strategy game MonkeyLeague allows users to create and manage a squad of up to six MonkeyPlayer NFTs (striker, midfielder, defender, and goalkeeper), compete against real players, and rise through the league rankings. Some of Milan’s first-team players will participate in playtesting the game and giving feedback and suggestions to make it as realistic and exciting as possible.

What should AC Milan fans expect?

The new relationship between Milan and MonkeyLeague is an integral aspect of the Club’s Web 3.0 strategy, in which it collaborates with industry leaders to develop innovative digital offerings for its devoted fan base. The collaboration also includes the club’s sponsorship of several upcoming major MonkeyLeague esports tournaments.

The top players around the globe will gather for these tournaments to compete in matches for the chance to earn unique prizes. Meanwhile, there will be other promotions offering prizes like signed Rossoneri apparel and VIP tickets to some of the biggest matches at Milan’s renowned San Siro stadium.
