- Locked addresses refer to specific blockchain addresses that hold a project’s tokens based on its tokenomics.
June 20, 2025 – Binance, the leading global blockchain ecosystem behind the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange trusted by over 275 million users, today introduced new Locked Addresses and Concentration Indicator. It is the first launch of its kind by a major crypto exchange and part of Binance’s ongoing platform enhancements to promote greater market transparency and strengthen user education.
Users can better optimize their trading experience when provided with more tokenomic information to help them make more informed decisions. Token transparency features allow projects to demonstrate greater transparency and accountability, helping them better engage with the community as crypto continues to evolve rapidly.
Locked Addresses
Locked addresses refer to specific blockchain addresses that hold a project’s tokens based on its tokenomics, securely locking up amounts of tokens for a predetermined period known as the vesting period. The purpose of locked addresses is to ensure that tokens are distributed and released on the open market in a controlled and transparent manner, which helps maintain the stability and integrity of the project.
Binance is the first crypto exchange to introduce the Locked Addresses information feature, enabling the community to track a project’s locked addresses and verify for themselves that the tokens are securely held and managed according to the projects’ guidelines, and also enable users to have a better understanding of a project’s circulating supply.
Concentration Indicator
The Concentration Indicator feature provides users with insights into how concentrated token holdings for a project are at any given time, through a weighted average formula that includes both concentration within and outside of the Binance platform. The Concentration Indicator for a token project is scored between 0 to 100. A higher score indicates a higher concentration of that token, and increases the risk of unexpected price volatility.
As the industry leader, Binance always encourages users to learn about tokenomics as part of their own research and participation in crypto. Binance continues to take the lead in developing products and features to help users access token information, so users can be better informed when making trading decisions.

Users can visit the Info tab of a token to check its Locked Addresses by hovering over Circulating Supply. Users can also view a token’s Concentration score to get insights into how concentrated the token holdings are. A higher score indicates the token holdings for a project is more concentrated and increases the risk of unexpected price volatility. Information in the images above are for illustrative purposes.
Yi He, co-founder of Binance, comments, “We are committed to our users and continuously work to set the bar of furthering transparency in the market for them. Our Locked Addresses and Concentration Indicator features are examples of that and our response to our community’s demand for more transparency and better tools to understand the tokens they’re trading. Through token transparency and user education, our goal is to also further market integrity and help the industry grow in a more sustainable way.”
In addition to Locked Addresses and Concentration Indicators, other token information transparency features introduced recently by Binance on its website and app include:
- Accessing projects’ Financial Report: In April 2025, Binance included access links to projects’ financial reports in their token information pages.
- Token Methodology Update: In February 2025, Binance updated its token information methodology to incorporate token unlock schedules for information on Market Capitalization and Circulating Supply.
- Token Unlock and Vesting Schedule: In September 2024, Binance integrated CoinMarketCap’s data directly so users do not have to leave the exchange platform to view material token information. This lets users conveniently view upcoming token unlocks and is another industry-first feature.
Binance builds for the community and always welcomes user feedback when developing new products and features to meet demand. Users can submit feedback for product enhancements via our public feedback channel here.
