- Scalera and Cramerotti are noted for their collaborative practice across institutional and digital spaces, including curating Art Dubai Digital
BASEL, Switzerland / LONDON, UK – March 26, 2026 – HEK (House of Electronic Arts) and Tezos Foundation are delighted to announce that Auronda Scalera and Alfredo Cramerotti have been appointed as the curatorial duo for the first of the two virtual exhibitions as part of the 2026 partnership. The show will premiere on the virtual.hek.ch platform, opening June 12th, 2026.
Building on the initial announcement of the partnership, the news marks the official launch of the curatorial process for the first exhibition, which will run through mid-August. Scalera and Cramerotti are noted for their collaborative practice across institutional and digital contexts, including previously curating Art Dubai Digital and advising institutions and cultural bodies such as the British Council and Italian Ministry of Culture. For the HEK Virtual Exhibition, they will bring their distinct perspectives, focusing on experimental media art that engages with advanced technologies.
Their curatorial concept, 404_LAND, adopts the error as both its central metaphor and philosophical framework. The group exhibition brings together artists whose work explores the overlooked spaces and hidden territories of the internet, considering how these digital interstices can be rediscovered within the structured systems of IP networks, algorithms, and firewalls.
Available to all, the virtual exhibition will also be accessible via a dedicated kiosk inside the HEK lobby throughout its duration, allowing the public to enter and experience the works both within and outside the museum walls. Another key element of the presentation will be the release of accompanying Tezos-based NFTs on the objkt.com marketplace as well as the virtual opening tour with Scalera and Cramerotti. The full curatorial concept and participating artists will be announced in May.
“We are genuinely excited to be working with HEK and the Tezos Foundation on what feels like a timely and necessary project. 404_LAND begins where the internet pretends to end. We are drawn to these thresholds, the broken links, the unreachable addresses, the spaces between servers, because they reveal something true about how digital systems exercise power and produce invisibility. This exhibition brings together artists who refuse to accept the error message, and instead ask: what lives on the other side of the wall?” Auronda Scalera and Alfredo Cramerotti, Curators
