Forex Focus on Canadian Retail Sales

In the American forex calendar the Canadian Retail Sales data due at 12:30GMT while oil traders will focus on Baker Hughes US Oil Rigs Count data due at 17:00GMT

During the Asian trading session, PBOC lowered the one-year lending rate to 4.20% from 4.25%. Japan National Consumer Price Index (year over year) registered at 0.3%, below forecasts of 0.6% in August.

Asian indices are trading mixed today, Nikkei is adding 0.14% at 22,074, the Hang Seng is 0.02% higher at 26,477. EURUSD trades 0.13% higher at 1.1054; the USDJPY is 0.13% lower at 107.86 while the AUDUSD is 0.21% higher at 0.6806.

The central bank of China set the Yuan rate (USDCNY) at 7.0730 versus yesterday fix at 7.0732.
