Cambrian, an AI infrastructure project providing financial data and predictive market forecasting to inform and train AI agents, today announced it has secured $5.9 million in seed funding led by a16z's Crypto Startup Accelerator (CSX). The accelerator program’s fourth cohort, CSX 04, takes place in San Francisco over the next two months. The investment will fuel Cambrian's mission to provide financial agents with hyperaware intelligence for radically smarter decision-making. Participation in the accelerator program comes ahead of Cambrian’s testnet and mainnet launch. Cambrian also received investment from Blockchain Builders and prominent angels within The Graph ecosystem, underscoring the industry's confidence in Cambrian's innovative approach at the crossroads of AI, blockchains, and data. Agents require fast, comprehensive and accurate data to power their decision-making and train their underlying models. Onchain data processed by Cambrian becomes context-rich with offchain data sources, like social sentiment, enabling agents to make well-informed, risk-aware financial decisions. Cambrian’s network design – with a consensus mechanism that verifies data – also enables agents to select for verifiable data if they require it. Cambrian’s technology stack also utilizes The Graph’s Firehose, a method for high-speed access to raw blockchain data. Cambrian’s founding team is comprised of alumni from The Graph ecosystem, led by founder Sam Green. Prior to founding Cambrian, Sam Green co-founded and served as CTO of Semiotic Labs, a core developer team of The Graph, which received a $60M grant from The Graph Foundation in 2021. He also contributed to creating Odos, a leading liquidity aggregator that has processed $80B in trading volume for 3M users. Sam also holds a PhD in reinforcement learning from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in addition to a master’s in applied math. Before joining crypto full-time, Sam worked as an AI and cryptography researcher at a U.S. Department of Energy lab. Cambrian is already collaborating with key partners to support the agentic finance revolution with data. EigenLayer, Virtuals, and Eliza Labs are among the teams working with Cambrian to attain financial intelligence for agents. Currently, Deep42 disseminates daily insights via its 𝕏 account, @DeepFortyTwo – an example of what can be built with Cambrian's data solutions.
